How the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics Built the World's Fastest Ethernet Compute Cluster using the Woven Systems Ethernet Fabric Solution
The ATLAS compute cluster at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Hannover, Germany is the fastest of all 285 Gigabit Ethernet clusters in the most recent TOP500 list of supercomputer sites. The Institute was able to achieve the top-ranking performance of 32.8 Teraflops based on the unprecedented 64% switching efficiency of Woven Systems' Dynamic Congestion Avoidance technology, which constantly balances traffic loads in real-time along available paths in a non-blocking 10 Gigabit Ethernet fabric. This session, co-hosted by Woven Systems' Bert Tanaka and Max Planck's Dr. Bruce Allen, will explain how Woven's high-performance switching efficiency enabled the Institute to reach the top spot cost-effectively.
