SC Conference - Activity DetailsBuilding a Diverse HPC Community for SC28 Primary Session Leader:
Richard Tapia
(Rice University)
Secondary Session Leader:
For 20 years, a generation, the Super Computing Conference has brought together a community of high performance computing (HPC) scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, students, programmers, and system administrators to one place at one time in order to enable computing and scientific synergy. What human network support will it take to recruit, prepare, and sustain the next generation of HPC scientists and engineers so that many of the nation's best students, including those from underrepresented groups, are engaged in HPC? Join some of the nation's leaders in the field of broadening participation in computing to discuss real strategies that work.
This BoF is being organized by an NSF Broadening Participation in Computing Alliance entitled the Empowering Leadership: Computing Scholars of Tomorrow, (EL) Alliance. The EL Alliance is engaging underrepresented students in computing disciplines at research institutions in a nationwide network.
