SP-XXL is a user group for sites that have large installations of IBM equipment. The focus of the SP-XXL group is on large-scale scientific/technical computing using IBM hardware. Some of the areas we cover are: Applications, Code Development Tools, Communications, Networking, Parallel I/O, Resource Management, System Administration, Security, and Training. We address topics across a wide range of issues that are important to achieving petascale scientific/technical computing on scalable parallel machines.
SP-XXL is a self-organized and self-supporting group. Each year the member sites compose a report at that contains suggestions for improvements and enhancements to IBM HPC products and services. IBM formally responds to this report and attempts to address requirements in their product development cycle. The session will focus on the benefits of becoming a member of the organization and an overview of the application process.
