SC08 Media Registration Now Open

The SC08 conference invites writers, editors and industry analysts covering the fields of high performance computing and networking to attend the conference. SC08 provides an unparalleled opportunity to meet and talk with the world’s leading experts in HPC. A quick overview of conference highlights is available by clicking HERE.

To encourage media coverage of the SC conference, the conference provides up to 2 press credentials to verified media representatives from each organization. Verification can be either in the form of a business card for staff members or assignment letters for freelancers. The credential consists of the appropriate conference badge and a Media ribbon, which must be worn while attending the conference.

Registered media representatives are allowed full access to the Technical Program sessions, the SC exhibits during regular hours (with other access by arrangement if needed), and the Tutorial sessions. Media representatives are provided access to the Monday night Gala Grand Opening event.

Media representatives are allowed use of the Media Room in the Austin Convention Center during posted hours. Media Room resources include 3-4 desktop computers, a printer, copier, fax machine, telephone line(s) and network connections. Light refreshments are also provided in the morning and afternoon Monday-Thursday.

The Media Room is located in Meeting Room 2 on the ground floor of the Austin Convention Center (in the southwest corner), and will be open the following hours:

• Sunday, Nov. 16, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
• Monday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• Tuesday, Nov. 18, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• Wednesday, Nov. 19, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• Thursday, Nov. 20, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

A separate room will be available for conducting interviews and may be reserved through the media room coordinator during the conference.

Credentialed media representatives are allowed to photograph or video-record the SC exhibits and Technical Program sessions as long as they are not disruptive. Whenever possible, the Communications Committee will provide an escort to assist with finding appropriate subjects.

Exhibitors: The Media Room at SC08 will have space available for up to 15 media kits per exhibitor. Additional information on maximizing media relations at SC08 will be available in the Exhibitor Manual, and can also be obtained through Hall-Erickson, the SC08 exhibit management company.
