Doctoral Showcase
In its second year, the Doctoral Research Showcase is setting new standards for presenting the latest and greatest dissertation work by tomorrows Ph.D.s. 44 students submitted their research work; 12 were chosen to present in two technical program sessions. (Thats nearly as selective as the Technical Papers program.) Join us Thursday at 10:30 and 3:30 for exciting talks that span the breadth of SC08 topics.
Another part of the SC08 Doctoral Research Showcase is a special session devoted to the three winners of the 2007 ACM/IEEE High Performance Computing Fellowship. When these fellowships were announced at SC07, the winners were invited back to the next conference to report on their progress. Come on Wednesday at 1:30 to hear Chao Wang (NC State), Mark Hoemmen (Berkeley), and Arpith Chacko Jacob (Washington University) tell about their work.
