SC08 Tech Program Submissions Deadline Extended to April 14

AUSTIN, Texas — SC08, the international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis, will celebrate 20 years of unleashing the power of HPC this year, following the traditions set by the first SC Conference in 1988.

The conference, which opens November 15 in Austin, is the HPC community's premiere opportunity to immerse yourself in the latest developments in supercomputing technology and applications. Here you'll find the latest in high performance computing (HPC), networking, storage, and analysis applied to the world's most challenging commercial, scientific, and engineering problems.

Now is the time to begin planning your part in SC08. Submissions for the SC08 Technical Program are now being accepted at: https://submissions.supercomputing.org/. Abstracts for papers, including Gordon Bell Prize submissions, must be submitted by Friday, April 4. The deadline for full papers, as well as proposals for tutorials, workshops and panels, has been extended to Monday, April 14.

"SC08 is the conference of record for the technical high performance computing community, and the premiere opportunity for exhibitors to reach the technologists, managers, and leaders that are shaping the landscape of HPC," said SC08 General Chair Patricia Teller. "You need to be planning now to make sure you have a place at the center of the action."

--Have you reached a milestone in an exciting HPC research project? The SC conference series is the premier international gathering for cutting-edge research in hardware, software and applications.

--Are you committed to advancing the state of the practice in HPC? SC tutorials are the resource that HPC professionals have turned to for 20 years to learn the latest techniques, and to master the standards of practice in high performance computing and analysis.

--Are you passionate about the contributions of HPC to our knowledge of the world around us and to the technologies we all use at work and play every day? The SC Education Program is lighting the way for the next generation of HPC professionals.

--Are you looking for a place to prove that you've got the right stuff? SC Challenges provide a way to showcase both expertise and HPC resources in friendly, yet spirited, competitions with other participants. Building on prior successes, SC08 will feature four challenges.

--Are you looking for one place to talk about your program, project, or product with over 10,000 of your peers, customers, and potential customers? SC has over 150,000 square feet of exhibit space crammed with the state-of-the-art in supercomputing technology, and the programs that are shaping the future of our community.

Plan now to be a part of SC08 and its program of trailblazing technical papers, timely tutorials, invited speakers, up-to-the-minute research posters, entertaining panels, engaging workshops and thought-provoking Birds-of-a-Feather sessions. New for 2008 are two Technology Thrusts: Energy and Biomedical Informatics. Additionally, exhibits from industry, academia and government research organizations will demonstrate the latest innovations in computing and networking technology. SC08 promises to be the most exciting and innovative SC Conference yet!
